CarEdge negotiates your car deal through an expert or an AI agent. The Model Black is not a broker: participating dealerships publish their prices up front.
The Model Black is not a licensed motor vehicle dealer or broker and does not act as a broker in any way. Participating dealerships sell and lease every vehicle and complete each purchase directly with you.
CarEdge and The Model Black start from opposite ends of the negotiation. CarEdge (caredge.com) does it for you: its Concierge runs the deal end to end for $999 per car, handling calls, texts, and escalations and walking you all the way to signing, and its AI Buying Agent emails dealers and negotiates the out-the-door price for $49.99 at its beta price (caredge.com, as of September 2026). The Model Black takes the negotiation out instead: participating dealerships publish their savings and price up front, every new car is priced three ways, and the dealership completes the purchase directly with you. Both are good answers to a bad experience.

They are different services. On The Model Black, creating an account to see pricing is complimentary, and a membership covers you and your household at the same address for every purchase during its term and includes an introduction to the participating dealership you choose, so you can complete your purchase directly with them. Pricing for White Level and Black Level, and the full list of what each level includes, are coming soon. CarEdge charges $999 per car for its Concierge and $49.99 for its AI Buying Agent at its beta price (caredge.com, as of September 2026). CarEdge negotiates for you; The Model Black does not negotiate.
Yes. Its inventory search shows new and used listings with prices provided by the seller or content partners, and its CarEdge Pro plan adds invoice, target prices, and out-the-door estimates; its Concierge and AI Buying Agent then negotiate on the car you choose (caredge.com, as of September 2026). The Model Black shows participating dealerships' own published prices on live inventory.
The price on The Model Black is the dealership's published price. A negotiator may or may not do better on a given car, and you are welcome to compare.
